participate.

Have your children ever read to
a dog? Would they like to? For six years, the Library has offered the Read
to the Dog program. Trained therapy dogs listen as children read. This is a
great way for children to practice their reading skills and build their
reading confidence. If your child is age six or older and would like to read
to one of the dogs, please register at
the Youth Services Desk.

your backyard. Staff from the McHenry County Conservation District will
explain how and where the animals live and how they adapt to changes in
their environment. They will also bring a special guest for us to meet.

It’s yo-yo time! Professional yo-yo champion Barry North, better known as
the Yo-Yo Man, will entertain us with his yo-yo tricks. Learn "Rock the
Baby," "Walk the Dog," "Around the World" and an
all-time favorite, "Dog Bite!" Barry will also tell us the history
of the yo-yo and answer yo-yo questions. This fun show is for children of
all ages.
