Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier

Anonymous' review: This was a good depiction of the life of a maid in the Vermeer household. Griet learned to embrace her instincts about art and to break out of her shell while posing for a painting.

Amanda’s review: I loved his book. In my opinion, it could have been much longer and Wendy Mass could have written a few more chapters. It was very interesting to see the world in the ideas of someone who has synesthesia. Mass painted a clear picture of how the world looks to someone like Mia and the relationships between her and other people. I was so interested that I even took the time to research synesthesia after I finished the book. I love it when a book can make you care so much about the characters even after you're done reading.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Penny's review : This was so much fun! I am beginning to believe that all the classics would be greatly improved by the addition of zombies. The juxtaposition of the flowery, formal language with ninja skills and unmentionables is just too powerful to resist. Can't wait for Dawn of the Dreadfuls!
