Focus on the Future

New Library on November 8 Ballot

Identified Needs and Library Tour

In the spring of 2016, residents of the City of Crystal Lake had the opportunity to attend four Community Engagement sessions on public library service within the City limits. The FOCUS (Future of Crystal Lake Library Under Study) Community Engagement Sessions provided the community a chance to identify needs related to Library service for the City of Crystal Lake.

Each session included a different presentation followed by a work activity in which residents had the opportunity to discuss and report their views about various aspects of the future of the Crystal Lake Public Library. At the conclusion of the second presentation, residents were asked to prioritize what they believe the community needs to serve.

This Library Board is committed to providing these community identified Needs. The Library is currently offering a Tour to help residents learn more about these identified Needs and how they will be addressed in the proposed new Library.

Below is the identified Needs list in the community's prioritiy order:

Ground Level Access

Verbatim responses and an Executive Summary from the work activities from each meeting can be found at the FOCUS website.
